My favorite venue in the Bay area, or anywhere else, in fact. Great sound throughout. I prefer the floor area, which has multiple levels to provide good sight-lines. Also, at least 4 bars right in the floor area. Usually the floor is GA without seats, but can be seated for certain shows. The upstairs also has good sound and comfortable seating, if that’s your thing. The Fox has a classic Eastern-inspired decor that I would describe as LUSH. Staff is efficient and friendly, as you’d expect at a place that hosts the everything from folk to metal. Bathrooms are clean and big enough for the crowd. Upstairs bathrooms have an odd antechamber for some reason. Drinks and food are good and somewhat expensive, but not outside of what you’d expect. Parking in Oakland is mixed. Often I’ve parked in an open lot for $5. If there’s a festival or event on Telegraph, parking can be very tough, best to use BART. I’ve never had to wait more than a few minutes to get in.
