Shoreline Amphitheatre

I’ve seen about 15 shows at Shoreline, and it’s mostly a positive experience each time. Parking at Shoreline is FREE! You will be out in a big field, and leaving could take 45-60 minutes, but it’s free. If you’re boujee, you can park in the paved lot for about $75. Another big plus is you can bring food and water into the venue. Check the venue policies, but I always bring a liter per person, and a gallon bag of snacks/sandwiches. They are very strict about bags (backpacks) and chairs. The line to get in can be slow, but mainly because people try to bring disallowed bags. They have a bag check at the gate if you mess up. The food options are actually pretty varied and good in the venue, including some food trucks and a sushi place. Many, many drink options, which are pricey, but you’ll find what you want. (Not that long ago, you could bring a bottle of wine in…). The seated area is far superior to the lawn, which is massive. There are about 5-6k seats, and it’s usually worth spending extra. The sound on the lawn can be a little too quiet for my taste. A note about the weather: summertime in Mountain View is perfect, sunny and breezy. It might get cool at night, but it will not rain. If you’ve had bad experiences at East coast or Midwest outdoor shows, it won’t happen here. (could be smoky, tho). Getting out can be slow, there’s no public transport nearby, and the parking lots can be congested afterwards. If you’re up for it, walk to the Sports Page after, have a few, and then Uber home a bit later!
